Fredrik Hult: I am a songwriter and producer. At the age of 8 I bought my first electric guitar: a Fender Stratocaster (but didn’t know the importance of it yet..). When I grew up I picked up on playing bass, drums and piano as well. Raised on 50-ies Rock ‘n Roll and Rhythm & Blues, I developed a bigger taste for hard rock and ended up playing in bands at the age of 15.
At 19 I moved to Pittsburgh, USA, to follow my musical dreams and joined a hard rock band named Scratchhouse shortly after. I studied music at G.I.T. (Guitar Institute of Technology) in L.A. and moved back to Sweden after my graduation. There I joined a variety of bands with more focus on performing pop music. Growing tired of life in a band I got out, changed direction and started to write songs for other artists, which turned out to be a natural fit. It also gave me the opportunity to work and explore various styles and genres.
I have had the fortune to enjoy a large number of successes. I can put 21 number 1 hits in Japan and millions of records sold to my name. On top of that, I had the most (paid) downloaded song in Japan in 2006 (2.2 million!) and achieved a number 1 position in the United Word Chart with two songs, entitled “Seishun Amigo” and “Sayendo”. As a producer I have also delivered a number of productions that made it to the number one position. Being this fortunate, I decided to start my own publishing company, named Hultana Songs. Here, I can harbor and develop new songwriting talent and also get to play and work with gifted people. Hultana Songs is under exclusive representation by Sony Music Entertainment.
